New Product
Designed by Martin Ballendat, Oasis is a new interpretation of a wingback chair featuring flowing, organic lines. The combination of the materials use is innovative: the curved steel-tube is covered by a knitted fabric that creates a distinctive silhouette. The area of the lumbar support and the headrest is covered by double fabric, offering the user an ergonomic sitting position with optimal comfort.
Oasis feels at once light and transparent, yet still provides a strong sense of privacy. The wings on both sides offer visual shelter and enable the user to concentrate on the important things in their day. This means you can create inviting lounge areas with a private and quiet atmosphere even in a busy office or in passageways. The optional writing-pad rotates 360 degrees around the chair enabling both left and right-handed persons can use it ergonomically. The twin-axle pivot system allows the user to adjust the writing-pad to a comfortable, close position and when not in use, the writing-pad can be turned behind the chair.
The oasis product-family consists of two variations with different back heights (one for desks and one for meeting rooms) and three different types of bases: 5-foot base with castors, 4-foot base with gliders or a swivelling plate in polished steel. The chairs can also be mounted together on a table element to form a bench. When combined as a bench, Oasis comes with a self aligning mechanism that returns the chair back to its original position; making sure that everything stays in line. A combination couch/table and a matching side table is also available for this chair family.
The knitted fabric of Oasis is available in three colours; anthracite, light grey and light beige and is exclusively available in Australia through RJ. You can contact the RJ team on 02 9299 9090 (Sydney head office), 03 9417 6988 (Melbourne showroom) or via email info@rj.com.au to discuss Oasis or the creation of a bespoke solution for your next project.
